Thank you for choosing CIAN Diagnostics as your laboratory partner for COVID-19 testing.

Detailed Instructions below.

  1. Swabs could be used for nasopharyngeal (gold standard) OR oropharyngeal (most patients’ preference) sample collections.

    • Anterior Nares

    • Mid Turbinate

  2. The swabs are good up to 72 hours at room temperatures. Please keep them refrigerated or frozen if the samples cannot be picked up the same day.

  3. Transport swabs with dry ice to improve the viability of the samples.

  4. Some swabs have break points at 7cm but the tube itself is 5cm tall. Please break at the breakpoint and bend the swab into the tube with the swab tip at the bottom.

  5. Please make sure that the caps are tightened properly.

  6. Please ensure that the labels are either printed from spreadsheet ahead of time for legibility or if you handwrite the name and date of birth, do NOT use a gel ink pen. Please use ball point pen or permanent maker.
